Agios Georgios

The village of Agios Georgios is nestled in the trees up on the hill side to the north west of Thassos, it’s a very small village with no hotels so it’s not somewhere you can base your holiday but it is a lovely place for a short visit to get away from the crowds.

Alyki

There isn’t much to Alyki as it’s really just a couple of beaches a trio of tavernas on the main beach, a mini market and a few places to stay including some old stone houses between the two beaches that are available to rent. There’s no village centre as such.

Astrida

Astrida, sometimes also known as Astris is an area of unspoiled natural beauty with gently sloping hills and rocky scenery nestled among olive groves towards the south of Thassos island. There’s not much in the way of tourist facilities but that’s one of it’s charms.

Kallirachi

Kallirachi is on the west side of Thassos, it’s a quiet village that has narrow cobbled streets and beautiful houses built from Thassos stone with terracotta roofs. The village has a tranquil, relaxed environment which makes it a lovely place to visit.

Kazaviti

Kazaviti is a beautiful village set on the mountain slopes of Thassos island, As it’s up in the mountains it offers spectacular views of the island and the Aegean sea, just watch out for those winding roads that lead up to the village, particularly at night.

Kinira

Kinira is a small, charming village on the east coast, it’s a quiet region that people visit for it’s natural beauty and tranquillity but it still has everything the tourist needs including supermarkets, tavernas, restaurants, a good selection of hotels and apartments.

Limenaria

Limenaria is the second largest town in Thassos and a popular spot for holiday makers along with neighbouring village Kalivia. As it’s one of the more popular resorts you’ll find a good selection of hotels and a good range of shops, tavernas and restaurants too.

Limenas

Limenas is the capital and largest town on Thassos and is often referred to as Thassos Town. It’s home to the main port on the island and links to Keramoti port on the mainland. It has everything you need including plenty of hotels and restaurants.

Maries

Maries is a traditional mountain side village close to the centre of Thassos. Maries is a delightful little village to visit, it’s somewhere you enjoy the natural beauty of the area. There are a few trails to walk round to make the most of the surroundings.

Pachis

Pachis is on the north coast. It’s a bit of a stretch calling Pachis a resort as it’s more just a collection of hotels and a handful of tavernas around the beach. There’s a decent choice of accommodation with hotels, apartments and villas all available.

Panagia

Panagia is a picturesque village built on the mountainside roughly 300m above sea level, it offers fabulous views over the Aegean. It’s not one of the more popular tourist resorts but it does still have a handful of places to stay and a number of good tavernas.

Potamia

Potamia is nestled in the hills of mount Ipsárion in the north east of Thassos. This isn’t the sort of village that most holiday makers would want to stay in as it’s too quiet, if however you like to visit the real Greece then Potamia could be a good option.

Potos

Potos is a popular tourist destination on the south coast with narrow streets that are lined with bars, restaurants and shops. It has a lovely long sand beach with all the facilities you need for a day out in the sun including watersports and loungers.

Prinos

Prinos is the largest Olive growing village on the island and the local oil and honey can be purchased at the open air market in the town square every Monday, as well as these goods there are locally caught fish, fresh fruit and veg and household goods.

Rachoni

Rachoni is perched on the side of the mountain up in the north west of Thassos. It’s not a developed tourist village but a tranquil place to take in the surroundings. If you’re visiting Rachoni be sure to head to the central square for a drink or some lunch.

Skala Kallirachi

Skala Kallirachi is a harbour and fishing village with great views over the Aegean sea, on a clear day you can even see the mainland. It’s a quiet village that’s not been taken over by tourists, despite that there is plenty of shops, tavernas and restaurants.

Skala Maries

Skala Maries, also known as Skala Marion is a relatively small and compact harbour and beach resort on the west coast of Thassos. It’s a beach lovers paradise as it’s actually based around 3 good sandy bays. giving you a choice of beaches whilst staying here.

Skala Panagia

Skala Panagia, also known as Chrysi Ammoudia is a gorgeous beach resort on the east coast and surrounds the northern end of Golden beach. As you head south it blends into Skala Potamia so visiting both at the same time is definitely possible.

Skala Potamia

Skala Potamia, sometimes known as Chrisi Akti is based at the southern end of Golden beach on the east coast of Thassos. It’s ideal for a family beach holiday and there’s no shortage of hotels and a wealth of tavernas and restaurants to choose from.

Skala Prinos

Skala Prinos is small with just a handful of restaurants around the waters edge and a selection of hotels, guest houses and villas in the surrounding area. It’s based around the islands second major port with regular ferries from Kavala on the mainland.

Skala Rachoni

Skala Rachoni, also known as Skala Rachoniou is a small harbour village up on the north west coast of Thassos. The village itself is based around the marina and and Skala Rachoni beach, with hotels and restaurants dotted about in the surrounding areas.

Skala Sotiros

Skala Sotiros is a delightful little harbour village on the west coast of Thassos. It’s small and quiet with a little beach, a good choice of hotels, a handful of bars and restaurants around the water front as well as a bakery and supermarket.

Theologos

Theologos is a traditional village built into the natural beauty of the Thassos hillside. Once the capital of the island, now it’s a small village with winding cobbled streets that’s lovely to spend a morning or afternoon exploring and enjoying the scenery.

Sotiros

Sotiros is a gorgeous little village offering views over the Aegean with less than 100 houses, a handful of places to stay, a couple of little churches and a single taverna. There’s no beach but there is one just 5 minutes away on the west coast.
