The traditional village of Nissaki is spread over a large area . There's everything you might want from supermarkets to cash machines and bakeries to car hire shops, you may just have a bit of a walk between them
Nissaki means little island in Greek, the region gets it's name because the section of land where Mitsos taverna stands was once separate from the mainland but with developments over the years it's now joined up.
There's a small harbour right next to Mitsos taverna and from there you can hire a boat to explore the areas coastline or join a scuba diving trip.
Nissaki is up in the popular north east region of Corfu island, it's just over 20km from Corfu town which is about half an hours drive.
Nissaki is pretty quiet, it's probably best suited for those wanting a relaxing holiday away from the crowds as there aren't many bars with most visitors preferring a meal in one of the tavernas whilst enjoying the views and a few glasses of local wine or beer.
If you want to stay in the region but still enjoy the odd night out then you can easily head to the capital for a more lively night out.
With Barbati to the south and Kalami to the north as well as a number of smaller villages too, Nissaki is well positioned for some exploring.
There's two beaches in the area, Small Nissaki beach which is right by the harbour and Large Nissaki beach which is further up the coast and flanked by a huge all-inclusive 4 star hotel.
Nissaki doesn't have a huge selection of hotels but there are a few, there's also a number of villas and apartments dotted about in the hills, just be prepared for a walk if staying in the area. Take a look at the options below to start your search.
