Kalami definitely isn’t a lively resort but it does have a small selection of tavernas, shops and bars as well as a lovely traditional Greek feel to the village. Kalami will appeal mainly to people who want a slow paced holiday, to relax and enjoy the sun, sea and gorgeous scenery.
Most of the amenities are down by the beach or on the road that runs through the village, just behind the beach. The beach is mainly pebbles with sunbeds available to hire, there’s a couple of tavernas on the beach for refreshments and snacks throughout the day.
Kalami also has a small marina just round the headland from the beach, there’s a taverna up the hill, overlooking the marina and this is a great place to sit and watch the Greeks coming and going about their business.
Kalami bay is set beneath the hills on Corfu’s north east coast. It's roughly 30km from the islands capital Kerkyra and the airport which is around a 45 minute to an hours drive.
As Kalami is a small bay with just a handful of tavernas it's probably not surprising that the nightlife is minimal, it's generally just a nice meal and a few drinks in the restaurant or some cocktails in one of the beach front tavernas.
There's no late night bars as such but some places will stay open while there's enough people in there so you can stay out late if you want.
Alternatively head south to Barbati or Ipsos for a more up tempo night out with Greek theme nights, live music and a much wider array of options to choose from.
As Kalami is in the north east, and this is where most of the little picturesque villages are you'll be able to take almost endless day trips out to explore the coast and find these delightful places.
You can head for Agios Stefanos north east which is just a few minutes north of Kalami or Kassiopi which is a beautiful sea front village that's also less than 15 minutes away.
If you're a beach lover then look out for Agni bay just to the south and Kerasia beach just to the north.
