The resort of Barbati, sometimes also spelled Mparmpati, has all the things a tourist needs including supermarkets, souvenir shops to get your fridge magnets and other mementos as well as a wealth of good restaurants and a few bars too, just don’t expect any clubs. There’s a number of ATMs and vehicle hire places, as well as a bakery. You can even hire a boat to explore the region's coast.
As the resort is spread out along the coast, none of the hotels are too far from the beach. Barbati beach is pebble with sun loungers and a couple of tavernas for refreshments throughout the day. There’s water sports available on the beach, so it’s easy to keep the thrill seekers in your group entertained.
There’s a ton of accommodation available in Barbati, from basic apartments to luxury villas and everything in between.
Barbati is based on either side of the main coastal road on the east of Corfu. It’s about half an hours drive north from both the airport and the islands capital Kerkyra.
At about 20km from the airport, transfer times are likely to be around 40 minutes or maybe a bit more depending on if you’re the first or last drop off.

The resort is probably best suited to families that want a bit of night life but generally enjoy a quiet peaceful break. You won’t find late night clubs but there is a handful of cocktail bars that are perfect for a nice night out.
If you enjoy a Greek night with traditional dancing and live music then you wont be disappointed as there’s a couple of options in Barbati that are fun for all the family.
For those that enjoy a quieter evening, simply pick out a spot at one of the numerous restaurants, enjoy an evening meal and a carafe of local wine or a pint of Mythos and watch the world go by in the warm Greek evening.
A good option from Barbati is a visit to Kerkyra as it’s easy to get to and has loads to do including a good selection of interesting historical sites. You also have a number of other villages nearby that you can visit for a day trip or an evening out. Just to the north is Nissaki and Kalami and just south you’ll find Ipsos and Dassia.
If you’re feeling energetic, Barbati is a great place to start a hike up Mount Pantokrator, alternatively a slightly gentler stroll along the beach might be a good option.
