Apraos

Our complete guide to Apraos in Corfu

What's Apraos Like

Kalamaki Beach Corfu

The village of Apraos is small and quiet with virtually no facilities, you wont find late night bars, souvenir shops or supermarkets, there are a couple of tavernas down by the beach and a handful of hotels.

If you need anything else you’ll have to travel to the nearby village of Kassiopi where there are plenty of places to stock up on supplies or bars for a night out. Kassiopi is walk-able from Apraos and it would usually take between 45 minutes and an hour.

Apraos is sometimes also referred to as Kalamaki as that’s the name of the beach that the village is based around. This obviously gets confusing but just remember if people are talking about Apraos or Kalamaki it’s the same place. The name change goes for the beach too, it’s usually Kalamaki beach but is often referred to Apraos beach.

Talking about the beach, it is probably the main reason that people go to Apraos, it’s absolutely huge and hosts plenty of visitors throughout the summer months, including large amounts of boat trippers at various times of the day. This doesn’t really impact the beach much as it’s so wide it never feels over crowded. Click here to find out more about Kalamaki beach.
